Air Atlas UAP: The Aerodynamic Revolution of Limar’s Air Atlas Family

Discover the new Limar Air Atlas UAP, the aerodynamic cycling helmet engineered to reduce drag, improve ventilation, and maximize performance. Lightweight, fast, and designed for pro‑level efficiency.

Ride Faster. Save Energy. Become Invisible to the Wind.

Whether you’re closing the gap to the breakaway or fighting to stay on the wheels behind you, every cyclist knows the feeling: you’re on the limit, going full gas, where every watt matters.

In these decisive moments, aerodynamics becomes the most important performance factor. The less air resistance you face, the faster you go—or the less energy you burn to maintain the same speed.

This is the foundation on which we developed the new Limar Air Atlas UAP, the latest technological evolution in our Air Atlas line of high‑performance aerodynamic helmets.

Why Aerodynamics Matter More Than Anything Else in Cycling

In cycling, aerodynamic drag accounts for over 80% of total resistance—far more than rolling resistance or gravity on flat terrain. Even minor improvements to your aerodynamic profile can translate into:

  • Higher speed at the same power output
  • Lower energy expenditure at cruising pace
  • Enhanced efficiency during racing, training, and long‑distance riding

But the human head is naturally one of the least aerodynamic shapes. This is where advanced helmet engineering plays a crucial role.

Today’s cycling helmets don’t just protect—they actively optimize airflow around the rider, reducing drag and improving internal ventilation. With the Air Atlas UAP, our goal was to push this performance advantage even further.

Air Atlas UAP: Designed to Cut Through the Wind

Aerodynamic helmets offer one of the best cost‑to‑performance benefits in cycling equipment. The right helmet can deliver free watts and measurable speed gains—something every rider, from WorldTour athlete to weekend enthusiast, can appreciate.

To create the Air Atlas UAP, our engineering approach focused on three key pillars:

1. Reduced Frontal Area

A smaller frontal footprint means less surface for the air to hit—translating directly into lower drag.

2. Optimized External Airflow

We reshaped the helmet to minimize turbulence zones and smooth the airflow as it travels over and off the head.

3. Superior Internal Ventilation

A performance helmet must manage heat effectively. We enhanced internal channels to guide fresh air to the rider’s head without compromising aerodynamic efficiency.

The Evolution: From Air Atlas to Air Atlas UAP

Our design process began with a deep aerodynamic analysis of the Air Atlas UFO, already known for its excellent performance. Through CFD simulations and wind‑tunnel testing, we examined airflow behavior both inside and outside the shell.

This led to the creation of a completely new rear aerodynamic extension: the UAP tail.
(UAP = Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon)

What the UAP Tail Achieves

  • Smoother airflow transition from helmet to rider’s back
  • Reduced turbulence behind the head
  • Improved drag profile across multiple riding positions

We tested numerous shapes and configurations before identifying the design that delivered the best mix of low aerodynamic drag and optimal ventilation. Thanks to the Venturi effect and redesigned internal channels, the Air Atlas UAP provides more cooling airflow while also being more aerodynamic than its predecessor.

Performance, Comfort, and Lightweight Engineering

A helmet built for speed must also be a helmet you love to wear.

The Air Atlas UAP introduces:

AirFit Evo Retention System

A refined fit system with softer, more ergonomic straps that contour naturally to the rider’s face.

Fidlock Magnetic Buckle

Fast, secure, and intuitive—especially useful in race scenarios.

Lightweight Construction

As with every Limar helmet, weight was a priority:

  • 256 g — Size S
  • 276 g — Size M
  • 316 g — Size L

With a retail price of €269.95, the Air Atlas UAP delivers WorldTour‑level aerodynamic engineering at a highly competitive value.
