A long history of success
1986
Limar begins producing cycling helmets, drawing on 20 years of EPS moulding expertise from its parent company, MPE.
1988
After an intense period of research and development, Limar began designing bike helmets, introducing Ciclo L3: a round HD EPS shape, internal comfort padding, a range of fluorescent colors and an extremely lightweight design. Lightness has always been Limar’s main goal from the very beginning.
1990
PRIMO, a helmet specifically designed for professional cycling, is born. It is the first helmet with a thermoformed outer plastic shell, engineered to enhance both aerodynamics and safety.
1994
The innovative F104 earns an Honorable Mention at the Compasso d'Oro Design Award. Lightweight, aerodynamically optimised and featuring an innovative fit system, it is the first helmet designed using computer-aided engineering.
1996
The Limar F104 becomes the helmet of choice for several ProTour Teams. Paola Pezzo wins the mountain bike Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games wearing a custom version designed.
2007
Limar launched Pro 104, the lightest helmet in the world: just 180 grams, the weight of a dream.
2018
Revolution is in the air!
In addition to protection, lightness and comfort, Limar focused on improving the aerodynamic performance of its helmets by creating the Air Revolution line: 5 helmets designed to deliver maximum aerodynamic efficiency by minimizing air resistance, helping to improve athletes’ overall performance. In particular, Limar introduced Air Pro CarbonCoreTech, a leading technology featuring a strong carbon structure.
