Air Revolution

When riding a bicycle, air is the greatest force to overcome. The Air Revolution Project was created to pursue aerodynamic efficiency through advanced simulations, wind-tunnel testing and continuous collaboration with engineers and athletes.

Limar studies not only the outer shape of each helmet, but also the way air moves inside it and interacts with the rider’s body. By managing airflow, ventilation and turbulence as a single system, the project delivers tangible advantages where speed matters most. The result is a new generation of helmets designed to move more efficiently through the air while preserving the comfort, cooling and low weight required for high-performance riding.

Evolving Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics and ventilation must work together. Limar continuously refines its helmets through integrated components and aerodynamic extensions developed for different speeds and riding conditions.

The UFO System was created to preserve internal ventilation, guiding air through the front vents and inner channels before it exits at the rear. The UAP System advances this approach by improving the way internal and external flows reconnect and by optimizing the interaction between helmet and rider. Building on this research, the new Altair introduces an extended profile integrated directly into the shell, delivering greater aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining the ventilation, stability and comfort required during sustained high-speed riding.

Carbon Protective Shield

The Carbon Protective Shield introduces an exposed 3K carbon outer layer integrated into the shell to increase resistance in the areas most exposed to severe impacts. Developed for the new Altair, the technology combines structural protection with a highly refined aerodynamic design.

Inspired by natural forms such as water droplets and birds’ wings, the helmet alternates sculpted surfaces with longitudinal ribs that guide external airflow and help reduce turbulence. Extensive simulations and wind-tunnel testing shaped every detail, creating a solution that brings together strength, aerodynamic efficiency and lightweight construction without compromising the distinctive balance of protection, comfort and performance that defines Limar helmets.

Mips® Technology

Selected Limar helmets feature Mips® technology, a system designed to help manage rotational motion that may be transferred to the rider’s head during certain angled impacts.

A low-friction layer allows a small, controlled movement between the helmet and the head, helping reduce the rotational forces that could otherwise be transferred to the brain. Depending on the model, the system is integrated into the padding in different configurations to preserve comfort, fit and ventilation while adding an additional level of protection. Lightweight and unobtrusive, Mips® works together with the helmet’s structure without changing the natural fit or feel of the ride.

Fidlock® Magnetic

Buckle System

The Fidlock® magnetic-mechanical buckle combines secure fastening with fast, intuitive operation. Its guided magnetic closure helps position the two parts correctly, while the mechanical lock keeps the helmet firmly fastened during use.

Designed for one-handed operation, it can be opened and closed quickly even while wearing gloves, reducing effort and avoiding uncomfortable pinching. Limar works with Fidlock® engineers and technical specialists to select the most suitable buckle configuration for each helmet and intended use. The result is a practical, reliable system that improves everyday usability while supporting the safety, comfort and precision expected from a high-performance helmet.

Airfit Evo System

Comfort begins with a precise and stable fit. The Airfit Evo System is integrated into the helmet architecture and uses an ergonomic retention structure that adapts to the rider’s head.

Lightweight, secure and highly breathable, it helps maintain stability during sustained speed and on uneven terrain without limiting ventilation. The vertical adjustment offers a range of up to ±35 mm, allowing the helmet position to be fine-tuned according to individual preferences. Ergonomic rear wings and integrated straps distribute pressure evenly around the head, improving support and personalization. The result is a fit system designed to feel natural, remain stable and deliver lasting comfort throughout every ride.
